Placeholder — replace with real content. This essay is set in type: justified serif, a dropcap to open, and room for a full plate. It exists to show how a long-form piece carries a photograph without breaking its rhythm.

PLATE I · PLACEHOLDER SCENE

A plate sits between paragraphs at the column’s full width. A pull quote can lift a line out of the body for emphasis:

“Nothing here is finished; that is the point of keeping it.”

Prose can be interrupted by a ruled table, set in the same serif with small-capital headings:

Platephotograph (jpg)to column width
Diagraminline svginfinitely, crisp
Sketchpencil scanfixed raster

Table I — media supported in an essay.
